This option will allow you to print single or multiple cheques. If you do have difficulties with your printer you still have the opportunity to reprint cheques (only once). Make sure you fan your Cheque stock prior to inserting in your printer as this will help to avoid jamming and cheques sticking to one another.

Before you start:

  • Make sure your printer is set up. If you click on the printer button, the default printer should appear.

  • Check the layout matches your cheque stock. Use a test check to make sure.

  • Check cheque stock and find out how many copies there are. Enter this into Chq Copies field.

  • Make sure all invoices requiring cheques have been posted.

1. In the main menu select Accounts Payable > Cheque Printing. The Cheque Printing window will appear.

2. If you are using multiple bank accounts, make sure you have the correct bank code selected.

3. In the Defaults field, make sure this is set to Accounts Payable.

4. Enter the first cheque number of stock you are about to use in the Cheque Number field. If you are not printing on actual cheque stock as you make payments through EFT, you should keep a separate Cheque Log spreadsheet to track cheque numbers used. Pay special attention to the starting cheque number. It’s very easy to forget it or type in a wrong number which will then affect the system, attaching the wrong numbers to the cheques printed.

To change the default cheque starting point you can change that setting under Control Table Control Accounts, select bank code and insert first cheque number in the CHQ From field.

5. Enter the Cheque Date.

6. If you are paying via EFT check the Create Funds Transfer File box.

7. Go to Invoice Selection tab screen and select invoices from the list you wish to be printed, or tick the Select All box.

8. If you are paying via EFT, click on the EFT Setup tab and fill in your information. Refer to Creating an EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) File for more detailed instructions on this section.

9. Go back to the Cheque Details tab, select click the Save icon.

10. Press the Print button.

11. A message displaying the number of cheques required will appear. Enter the stock then click Yes.
