You can now run a Cost Report or Trial Balance across a period range rather than an individual period. Please follow this guide to correctly run a period range report.

Initial Setup:

  1. Enable the system default under Control Table System DefaultsAllow Period Range on Fin Report and then press OK. Enabling this system default will allow you to select from a range of periods when running a historical financial report.

Procedure to Run the Report:

  1. Each time you are needing to run a period range report over a new period, ensure that you do a Chart Rebuild from your Budget Worksheet. Please follow the instructions here: How to run a Chart Rebuild. This will ensure that your reported figures are up to date.

  2. Navigate to the Financial Reports screen and select the Cost Report Period Range or Trial Balance Period Range report layouts, then press the Floppy Disk Save icon.

If you are wanting to setup a separate report default just for running period range reports, then follow this guide here on how to create a new report default: Creating a Separate Report Default.

  3. Select the Report Range/Options tab under Financial Reports and tick the Use Closed Data checkbox. You will then need to select your From and To Periods. Then press the Floppy Disk Save icon.

  4. The report will only print the period number range in the header. If you wish to also print out the dates to your report header, you can manually insert them into the Note on Report field, then press the Floppy Disk Save icon.

  5. After configuring the above you are now ready to run your report.
