Skipping an Approver

If you want to skip an Approver in an Approval Group (so records do not go to them for approval) then navigate to Administration → Approval Group Setup
Approval Setup
When you click on an approver, you’ll have the option to Skip the Approver by ticking a checkbox in the Advanced List. Once saved, the approver will be set to skipped.
You can remove the skipped status by unticking this checkbox and saving again.
User Setup
If you disable a user under the User Setup module, it will also set the user to skipped in all their approval groups.
When disabling users under the User Setup screen and they are assigned to an approval group, the system will automatically set their status as skipped in any approval group they use.
But if the user has pending records for approval when you attempt to disable the user, the system will then throw an error message with details of the approval groups.
You will need to manually transfer the pending records to a different user by replacing them in the approval group first. You can do this by manually replacing them in the approval group, or using the bulk approval group replacement tool: Bulk Replace an Approver in Multiple Approval Groups
