Changing AppController/ Go-Global Server

If you want to change server, or if you are having problems with Eclipse running slow or shutting down, try connecting to an alternate server.

MAC Computer Instructions

  1. Shut down your Eclipse/Go-Global software

  2. Click on the Go-Global or Appcontroller icon on your desktop

  3. The first window that appears, note your current server and then change to another server one listed at the top of this page, based on the location of your database.


Windows Computer Instructions

Method 1 via Start Menu

  1. Shut down your Eclipse/Go-Global software

  2. Open GraphOn Go-Global via the Windows Start Menu -> GraphOn -> Go-Global or Windows Start menu -> Appcontroller.

 

3. Type in the new server address in the Connection Window. Click the "Create Desktop Shortcut" to create a Desktop Shortcut to this server. Once you hit connect it will prompt for your username and password.

 

Method 2 via Desktop Shortcut

  1. Shut down your Eclipse/ Go-Global software

  2. Right-click on your Go-Global or Appcontroller desktop icon, and select Properties

  3. Select the Shortcut tab.  In the Target field note your current server address, then change the host address to another server that is listed below based on your location. Do not change any of the other text, apart from the server address.

Example: if you are changing the address to uk2gg2.tphglobal.com you would replace the address in the Target field between -h and -c to uk2gg2.tphglobal.com. Do not change any of the other text apart from the server address.

Windows Computers - creating multiple shortcuts

Right-click and copy your existing shortcut and then right-click and paste it onto your desktop. On the new shortcut right-click and choose properties. In the target edit the server address and replace the existing address with the new one as above. This way you will be able to easily log into any server.
